I'm planning on attending a community college next year after graduation (not sure which one yet) and after that I plan on attending a university and majoring in Political science (not sure which university either) I've read the IGETC requirements to transfer from to a cal state or uc school, but I may want to attend a college out of state. I'm still very confused about the unit system and transfer system, according to the IGETC requirements, 34 units are required to transfer, but aside from the 34 I'll need to tranfser, I will likely have to take 12 units per semester (someone said that's the minimum) what classes are best if I'm going to be a political science major? anything math/science is not my thing, but I have to take that as general ed :( what are the easiest classes in those category's to take for general ed? anything that mixes math and science together is even harder for me btw. I'm pretty confused by the system honestly, if anyone can help me, please do! :) thanks.

Statistics is generally useful in the social studies fields, and political science majors typically require a quantitative methods course (consider analysis of political elections and polls and the like).

Outside of your major, remember that other social studies subjects like economics and sociology interact with and influence politics. Statistics will be useful there, and calculus will be useful if you want to study economics beyond the introductory level.

To prepare for transfer as a junior to UCs and CSUs, you need at least 60 semester units (= 90 quarter units, since 1 semester unit = 1.5 quarter unit). Use http://www.assist.org to check what courses you need for your major and IGETC. If you can fulfill that in fewer than 60 semester units, you can take other transferable courses of interest to reach 60 semester units.
