For admitted applicants or graduates, what made you a selection for BU?

I’m a (senior) public student in Florida, weighted GPA up to my junior year is 3.9, unweighted 3.5, 84/560 in my class unweighted, 100 weighted (including IB kids) [roughly top 18%], a part of National Honor Society, president of Quill and Scroll: Karl Bickel Chapter club, senior board member, no community service whatsoever (other than donating blood regularly), one AP class last year (passed with a 4), two this year (AP lit and AP stat). currently in AP stat, I’m not doing so hot with a C average, but I’m getting extra help from my teacher to change that by the end of quarter 2 (because I know colleges look at first half more than anything…of course I’m going to keep up my grades with constant tutoring from her). My SAT scores blow - 570 reading, 490 math, and 670 writing. Don’t live with my parents because of legal issues that began in mid-tenth grade, and I am living with a roommate paying rent with a steady job. I’m also from out of the country (Jamaica), am a first-gen student, and mixed with black and chinese. Add on glowing recommendations and a fairly pretty track record (including, but not limited to, no disciplinary action taken on me during a single day of high school). NOW, what are my chances? This is all I can think of as a factor, oh and my essays are good I’ve been told (writing is my forte, considering communications will be my major :]). Thanks!
