What GPA does Cal use

I am a bit confused. I am asking this question here, but I am asking for both UCLA and Cal…When people refer to the their uncapped GPA, are they referring to 10-12 only? And does anyone know what is a solid uncapped GPA for this school. I don’t believe the common data set uses uncapped GPA? I understand GPA and Rigor are most important, followed by test scores. If so, is 4.54 for uncapped 10-12, with a 1470 single sitting close to a high probability? I know it is all difficult to predict, but what do you all think is the 75% of uncapped gpa?

Thanks

Weighted uncapped GPA is GPA calculated the usual way (i.e. 10th-11th for current high school seniors, +1 for honors and AP courses as listed at http://doorways.ucop.edu ) but not limited to 8 semesters’ worth of honors +1 points like the weighted capped GPA is.

Most UC publications, such as http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/freshman-admissions-summary , use weighted capped GPA.

@ucbalumnus, I understand your explanation. So what is a good uncapped w gpa for Cal? That info does not seem to be available. trying to figure out the middle 50% on this score
