What GPA is needed to get into UGA?

There is not a minimum GPA that will or will not get you in. Admissions are based off the total applicant pool for that year. So if this year, the average GPA of all those that applied was a 3.5, they would (mostly) admit applicants with around a 3.5 and higher.
Also, GPA is important but you also need solid test scores AND good course rigor. If you have a 4.0 but took all regular classes, you probably won’t be accepted. The same is true (although a bit less so) if you have low test scores. A 19 ACT score but a fairly good GPA can still get you waitlisted.
The average GPA of this year’s freshmen incoming class was a 3.83, the average number of AP classes per student was 7, the average ACT score was 30, and the average SAT score (math and critical reading only) was 1210. UGA (and many other schools) recommend that you aim above these if you want a better chance for admission.
