What grades/SAT, EC did you get to get into UCB

Well, for UCB, ELC (top 4%) is really important. Also, those SAT II scores are pretty low. You should get them above 700 just to be on the safe side. Your EC's are kinda weak too, except your community service. Clubs are something but, I mean, things like sports, speech and debate, internships, etc carry much more of a punch. GPA is low..yet that's with a full load of AP classes so theyll take that into consideration.

If I was in your shoes, I would try to find an internship over the summer, raise those SAT scores, and maybe take some community college classes geared toward your major. Try not to do those math classes that everyone does (unless you want to go into math/engineering/physics).

EC: lots of comm service
Good grades, gpa and rank got me in. comm service helped a lot too. learn how to make yourself look good. make it seem like you do a lot in school, even if you dont. essays need to be good, i think i wrote ok essays, but they could have been better. dont rush the app like i did, take your time.

GPA: 4.01
ACT: 30 (1370 on SAT)
SAT II: 680 (writing), 720 (US History), 650 (Math IB)
EC: Theatre (4- President (3)), CA Envirothon Varsity (4- awards, Varsity Team Captain), 2000+ hours community service, founded an animal rights club, drummer for colonial fife and drum corps... etc.

I think the important thing about Berkley is individualism. People may tell you it's all about grades and stats, but a friend of mine who's going to West Point wasn't admitted and she's the top of our class and everything. You need personality. Found a club. Be noticed. BE Different (not crazy. Unique). If you want to learn and can demonstrate this through your essays and short answers, you have a great chance. That's why I love Cal. Don't stress, go out and do things.

(btw, sometimes it also has to do with which major you choose. You aren't only up against the general pool, but the people who chose the same major as you)

Good luck!

I thought they didn't look at GPA/rank. I'm guessing (aside from the intntl.) that u are all from cal.
