What happend to D. Barkowitz's blog?

I can't load the website :(.

My son at MIT tried to access his MITPAY account yesterday and the system was down. I just tried 3 different MIT blogs and none of them will load. They must still be having problems. Keep trying.

I am waiting for a response from them... I will simply call them on monday...

MIT have problems with computers? Weird things are happening here ;).

I remember someone, somewhere saying that the building that houses the server that hosts the mit blogs is undergoing construction, and somehow somehwere there was some complication that caused the server to crash.

It was fixed, but maybe that happened again?

I hope it will recover in some time...

I can't access the blogs yet either! I guess it's just a matter of time.

hey Kev, so how was the "meet the bloggers" party? i wish i could be there

MIT's blog server is having problems.... moneyman posted about it on ben's blog...

And I will confirm it here. Unfortunately neither Admissions nor Financial Aid owns the servers which host the blogs and they went down again over the weekend (something about losing network connectivity). We have notified IESL (the blog hoster) and they hope to have service restored Monday!

Sorry for the downtime...

But Ben's blog is unaffected. Visit his....

Thanks Money-Man, I couldn't wait to get home from CPW and read the blogs. It was nice meeting you in person after reading your blogs for a few months now. As a parent, i appreciated your taking time out for me and mootmom before the meet-the-bloggers started. I was happy to see your compassion with regards to a parent's point of view. I know this past weekend was all about the "pre-frosh" as it should be. But these kids got to this point somehow!!

hey! you don't think Cal Tech had anything to do with it your servers? Being from California, i was amused by the pranks! I read their statement on fair play, I wouldn't expect anything less from California. When I saw my daughter, she still had her "free" t-shirt rolled up and it wasn't until later she discovered it was part of the Cal Tech prank!! It was very funny.

The blogs are back! :)
