irap3pillows, i mean, most of the people how post chances threads have stuff like, volunteered in something for 2 years, chess club, lacrosse club, etc..
I think i have better ECs than those - like president of many clubs, lots and lots of leadership, captain of sports club, leading fundraising campaigns, girlguides leader, etc.. (sorry it sounds like i'm boasting but really, I'm just giving you an idea..). THe thingIm lacking in is research.
BUT, my acadamics is horrendous compared to those 'chances' people.
I have sucky sats (below cc average, below reality average), i have sucky grades, i have sucky everything grade-wise. That's why Im hesistant to apply jhu ed.
On the hslife forum, there's this thread- someone mentioned that if a person has less than a quoted sat score (eg less than 2000), adcoms wont even look at the person's file! That scares me.
I mean, would jhu even admit someone who is utterly utterly dumb with above-average ECs? Wouldnt they rather admit someone who actually has a brain with average ECs?

Oh and if ED acceptance rate is ~48% what is the defer rate?(see? i dont even know how to spell defer) Because I really want to know the rejection ed rate..
