What happens at recruitment weekends?

<p>I have been invited to go to one and I'm suppose to fill out a list of professors I would like to meet with and talk to.</p>

<p>I'm guessing this is for my TA/RA position, but what else happens at a recruitment weekend that I should prepare for?</p>

<p>I wish. That's only happened 1/3 times so far.</p>

<p>Usually, the first day you go through like 6~7 professors one and one talk, than they take you out for dinner and some night life(open bar!). The next day is for small talks & student posters and maybe some sight seeing around the city.</p>

<p>Are the 6-7 professors the ones that you actually want to work under or are they just there to talk to you?</p>

<p>They try to match you up with professors that you requested and also those in the related field, but sometimes you get random professors that you wonder why you're talking to them. In general, you get the professors you request, plus admission committe member for the recruiting or evaluation.</p>

<p>I guess I'll pick 6-7 professors for my list and try to avoid "random professors" :D</p>
