The instructions for Columbia's application says that applicants have to send a midyear report by Feb the 1st.....however, I didnt send one because I sent my transcript in the beginning of Jan 2008, when my second semester had already begun and my first semester grades were already available, so i thought a midyear report would be redundant....i did not send my transcript before december 31 when it's generally sent...Columbia received my transcript on Jan the 29, so they already have my 1st sem. grades....will this mean automatic rejection since i didnt send a midyear report??? :(

No. If Columbia needs to see one, it'll probably ask your school to dispatch one.

You may want to call them up to ask them. I'd agree with gouchicago in saying that you PROBABLY don't need to send one, but you're better safe than sorry.

when most applicants send their applications, they only have 1st QUARTER grades available. The midyear report is for 2nd qtr grades (as well as any updates). If you had first-SEMESTER grades sent initially, you're probably all set.

ok, i just found out that Columbia, as of today, DOES NOT have my 1st semester grades...am i screwed??? is it too late to send them a midyear report??
i think this means automatic rejection :(
