What have you heard about pre-med at UT?

Can someone offer me some insight as to how successful students are in UT along the pre-med pathway? I just got my acceptance–I’m majoring in neuroscience and I would love to go to UT. Does anyone have any idea how difficult it is to attain a high GPA? I really really want to go to med school, and I am also aware that UT does have a good number of pre-med students on this track. Is maintaining a high GPA (preferrably 3.8+) doable? How are research opps? Clinical volunteering? Clubs, organizations, etc?

Please give me all the info you know. I am not necessarily interested in the rate of students who are accepted into med school, as several colleges have committees to pass through each application before a seemingly good student can actually apply. (Actually I don’t think UT is one of them, but still)

Thank you for your help!

Have you seen this site? It has a lot of information you will be interested in. Won’t answer your question about how difficult it is to get the GPA though.
