I’ve seen more kids worry about flunking math and engineering courses, but not English. Well I do agree it’s good to have a well rounded education but they must also include 4 year of math and science. Nothing from what I’ve wrote suggesting otherwise. Yes my kid took English lit and Shakespeare too.
Wow, CC chopped my post off.
He also took AP Art History along with the usual science and math suspects.
Note: I originally misread that you wanted Computer Engineering. CE is more math and physics intensive than SE/CS.
You still need math in CS and another science class. It could be Physics or Chem at my kids school. You need to write proofs for CS math, this is where a lot of kids got tripped up. You also need to take 3 calculus classes, if you take AP Calc BC, you can skip 2 math classes.
In high school, completion of precalculus/trigonometry should be considered the minimum; if your middle school math placement was such that you complete precalculus/trigonometry in 11th grade or earlier, take the most rigorous version of calculus if offered.
