What if I'm Asian and I don't want to report it?

I know schools tend to be anti-Asian, so if I don't report my race would it help?

My last name is Shin, so uhhh.. I guess it's pretty obvious.

Would the colleges get annoyed of my lack of willingness to give them information or something?

I dont blame you for not wanting to. Discrimination against Asians in the admissions process is appalling. Probably won't work though. Good luck.

You might as well be honest. Wild claims on CC aside, the number of students genuinely affected by AA is extremely small. Checking Asian, White, or Undisclosed won't hurt you; it just doesn't help.

It's obvious...you might as well be honest.

Then don't report it.

get plastic surgery day before interview and change your last name...

I doubt it'll have any significant impact on your app.

That question pops out in this forum alot. The answer is: If its obvious, then might as well put it on there. It won't help you much and could even hurt you depending on the school. Adcoms aren't so dumb.

Are the claims kind of alarming concerning AA here? Yes.

Are they true? Kind of. In a foggy yes manner. But not crazy.
