I really want to get into a CSU school, but doing the math - GPA 2.26 x 800 and 980 on the critical reading/math portions of the SAT - I come up with 2,788, which puts me a little short. Is that 2900 minimum threshold set in stone or do I still have a chance at some of the lesser known CSUs like Sonoma or Stanislaus?
California residents (California high school graduate or a resident of California for tuition purposes) must have a minimum eligibility index of 2900 using SAT scores or 694 using ACT scores. (The SAT score component for CSU is the sum of the mathematics and critical reading scores. Neither ACT nor SAT writing scores are included in the calculation of the CSU Eligibility Index.)
California nonresidents or nongraduates of California high schools must have a minimum eligibility index of 3502 using SAT scores or 842 using ACT scores.
Right, I understand that, but does this mean with a 2,788 I am automatically shut out of any CSU school, or is there still a chance?
