What if the Peer Evaluation has an error?

Hi! I asked a friend/team mate to write my Peer Evaluation. She is a good friend, and a College Graduate from another Ivy League School. She ended up submiting the evaluation really close to the deadline but told me she had wrote a very nice letter.

Well, last week she asks me "When will you hear back from Duke?"
To which I replied: "I did not apply to Duke, never even intended to"
And she says: "What? Didn't I just write you a peer evaluation for Duke?"

I was speechless, but I managed to tell her: "No, it was for Dartmouth. Remember I sent you the link?"
So she answered "Ah, yeah, right...., let me know when you find out if you got in"

So now, I am really worried because I strongly suspect she made a mistake and for some reason mixed up the name of the school. I have no way of finding out, because I tried to ask her if she was sure she remembered that I was applying to Dartmouth not Duke, and she said "yeah, yeah" but changed the subject. I am really worried that if she wrote Duke, the admissions office will think that I used the same letter for more than one college, and I did not even apply to Duke!

Is there something I can or should do about it?
How badly would that affect my chances?

Nothing really to worry about. It’s the peer who made the mistake, not you! Besides don’t email the admissions office then it would seem as if you read the peer evaluation after you waived your right on the common app. Dartmouth would assume that you haven’t seen the evaluation so there is no problem. :)>-

Find out if your application to Dartmouth is complete or if something is missing.

Yes, it is complete. It was uploaded in time.
My friend texted me to let me know when she was finished, and I checked to make sure it showed up.
I did not dare email the admissions office precisely because I was afraid that they would think I had read it.

I am not even sure if my friend made a mistake or not. It’s just that her comment made me really nervous, and I really hope that if she made a mistake, the admission office understands that there was nothing I could do about it.

Thank you both for answering!

If I were in the admin office, I would chuckle and say “Hum… guess he is applying to Duke as well.” And then i would read it for the content about you and not care about the school. I bet you 10 to 1 that is exactly what happened. You think this is the first time a school received a letter meant for another school? Of course not. it is not your fault. Relax. Everyone in the admin office knows that.

Also look on the bright side - it could help you get remembered. Someone could easily say, “Remember that guy who got the Duke letter. I really liked his application. Let’s look at it again and move him forward in the process.” Fact is, you will be fine either way.
