What is a good book to help with the Critical Reading?

Hi, I wanted to retake the SATs cause my verbal was so bad. 760M/540V. What books would you suggest looking at that would help me out most?
THANKS

The New Yorker Magazine......get a subscription. It is a weekly and has a great diversity of articles.........it is a great resource for CR skill.

so you would suggest reading over getting some sort of practice thing. And when you do read, how would that help? Should i look up words I don't know or something?
THANKS

I second the New Yorker Magazine.

Magazines like Scientific American also help for the scientific passages on the CR section

Or you can purchase Grammatix. I've never used it before but from the posts on this board, it seems to boost CR scores pretty well.

Ok thanks...I am very bad with vocabulary and comprehension...it stinks a lot
