What is a good club to start?

What is a good club to start that will look good on college Applications.

My schoool already has KEY club, Debate, Leadership etc etc

I started a club my sophomore year–in one of my interest areas, wasn’t thinking about college–and it didn’t help me in admissions. Don’t worry about “looking good.”

I think that as long as you start a club, show leadership (obvs you’re the founder), and win some competitions its a good club. Let’s say you want to major in something relating to business, well than start FBLA, DECA, etc. Pick something you’re interested in doing and that possibly relates to your college major.

Science Olympiad, SECME, BPA, Odyssey of the Mind, Beta, NHS, UN Sanctions, Writing Club, Book Club, Art Club. If you have any particular interests, you could build a club around that.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD!!! is fun but hard to win awards in without experience… (former nationals finalist here  )
I’ve heard NHS is hard to start?
A friend of mine started Model UN at a neighboring school…

@DigitalKing Could you tell me some details of how your friend started Model UN at a neighboring school? I got permission and everything, but I don’t know how to register for conferences and stuff like that

@Hawkace Well, when I say “friend”, it’s more of an acquaintance. I would email the tournament coordinators and ask them for details. Every region is probably different.

Story. of. my. life.

How the heck do you quote someone? Damn, Idk how to do that. But thanks anyway @DigitalKing

Jealous of my quoting abilities? See how I even said “Hawkace wrote”!

It’s so true that even Facebook has created a category called “Close Friends” to help you distinguish between “acquaintances” and “friends”.

@Hawkace Your teacher would register with each competition separately. You can find competitions on the best delegate website.
