what is a good major to double up with managerial econ?
which major would give me the most job opportunities and better job salary if i double-majored with “something” and managerial econ.

anybody???

I want to do the same thing. Man Econ is 180 units. The total amount of units you can take is 225... let me show you what one undergrad told me (in regards to doubling with man econ). Keep in mind you'll have to fulfill both L/S AND College of Ag/Env Sciences.

"I just opened up the page in my 2004-2006 UC Davis General Catalog for Managerial Economics, and it looks like it is 180 units, which is a lot. Beyond 180 units, they consider reducing your financial aid, and non-Engineers are capped at 225 units total.
But, don't despair.

Within those 180 units are 37-48 unrestricted elective units, which could be used or fun classes or getting a minor. If you wanted to double major, then you'd have to do something in a similar field to Managerial Econ (for example, a Mechanical Engineer only needs 2 more classes in order to double major as an Aeronautical Engineer, too). But, you should have enough units to minor and explore.

Also within those 180 units are 6-24 GE units. Now, thats where your AP credit and IS comes in. I've got to tell you this straight out, but of all the UCs, UC Davis rewards its high achieving entering AP students the least, in terms of classes you can get out of using your AP units. Now, 40 ap units, with Managerial econ, means some AP Calc (not gonna specify ab-bc-whatever), probably macro econ and/or micro or vice versa, and then maybe some english and history or a language.
These units will help with your GEs, and the econ's can probably clear some of your starting classes. Oh, and stats is in there as a major reqiurement, so that too (my random thought process). Basically, the AP units will help a bit, maybe not too much, but also taking the classes means you will have a major edge in whatever class you start out in. My personal advice would be to not skip all the intro classes possible, but some of them, because you don't want to plunge into the hard stuff all at once."

i am thinking of double majoring too

Food Science and Managerial Econ

inpltclycorrect - which major are you planning to do besides Managerial Econ?

on this website written under "Multiple Majors- College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences." it says "Combinations of majors offered by a single department/program/division are not allowed. "

does that mean i cannot major in Food Science and Managerial econ since they both fall under the catergory of "College of Agricultural and Environmental Science"?

no no - that's a college, not a department/program/division.

And I'm thinking of doubling in something like Statistics or Communications, unit-permitting.
