The woman who was involved in the suit whose depositions recently came to light was also a Temple alumna.
Clearly there are some shoot from the hip comments here about both schools. Temple has its good assets as does Rutgers. It is not like there is a chasm between these two schools. Appreciation of one or the other is completely a matter of personal preference. Rankings by non-academic persons (I mean you, USNWR) doesn’t means squat for the typical applicant interested in these two institutions.
First of all, you should not use the word “Famous” as it has nothing to do with the quality of education you will receive. The University of kentucky is “famous” but not for academics. To compare the two schools, or any schools, at a macro level is really comparing Apples and Oranges. You need to compare the specific programs you are interested in, and which school is better at that. If you insist on doing macro-level comparisons, look at http://colleges.startclass.com/compare/2626-3815/Rutgers-University-New-Brunswick-vs-Temple-University
What is wrong with the academics at U KY? For one they have a top pharmacy program.
@mommdc it’s generally looked down upon as an academic institution.
Well they seem to be doing something similar to University of Alabama by attracting high stats students and offering NMF a full ride, building new facilities and dorms.
It always amazes me so many NJ kids look down upon Rutgers. Maybe going to Rutgers feels like going to a larger high school for them.
Kids in NJ kind of view it as “the 13th grade” because a lot of NJ kids go and therefore see kids from their HS. Personally, this is not an appealing aspect.
I’m pretty sure kids in Cambridge look at Harvard as “the 13th grade” I might be wrong, but c’mon what’s with the 13th grade thing?
I think the difference is that Harvard is much more selective and highly-regarded, despite being in Cambridge (where these presumed students are from) so it’s a bit different (similar to how Princeton schools are in Princeton and send a lot of kids to the University).
