So what is it?

around 25%

anyone know about engineering acceptance rate?

33%, around.

Around 20%.

Cornell's cumulative acceptance was around 27%.

Arts gets the most apps and is typically the most selective with the possible exception of Architecture.

no.. it was 25%. check the cornell database.

no, engineering is the easiest school to get into if you look at acceptance rate. they are the reason cornell's acceptance rate is so high (mainly because a lot of them who are accepted end up going to MIT Caltech, etc, so they have to accept more). last year, it was 38% accepted, and the year before 37%, so, despite an overall acceptance decrease from 2003 to 2004, engineering actually went up.

Wow! That made me feel so much better. Here's to hopin. Thanks!

The stats are deceiving you. Engineering and Arts and Science are the HARDEST to gain acceptance. Look at the SATs and the percent in the top 10% of the class.

It's the same as Johns Hopkins ans the University of Chicago. Both have relatively high acceptance rates, but the acceptances rates are artificially high because it is self-selective.

what's self-selected?

I feel hotel and aap are the hardest to get into. it takes a lot of interest and porfolio and experiences in those field as opposed to just mundane classwork to get accepted. i would not havegotten in, no matter what my grades and scores were.

Is CALS or CAS harder to gain admission into?

CAS for sure.

Depends on the programs you are applying to. Econ, Bio, business, etc.: all the popular majors will be difficult to get into.
