Is the acceptance rate for A&S at Cornell posted anywhere online?..i think its posted for Engineering

CAS was approximately 16% or 17% this year I think, and that includes ED which was 41% (for the whole university) for 1/3 of the incoming class.

I know I've asked about this before, but how could the college's acceptance rate possibly have gone down to 16 or 17%? In the admissions statistics thread it says that acceptance rate for class of 2008 was 25.5%. Sparticus, I'm not accusing you of being wrong or anything, but where did you get that the admit rate was that low?

I'm sorry jmarsh2006, but you should've been keeping track of the threads from a while ago. Cornell's CAS apps rose by 29% for Class of 2009 regular decision. That means about 12K? applicants applied to Cornell. Adam is right. It's about 19% CAS acceptance rate.

ya more applicants (esp. because of the common app) means more less qualified applicants

oh, well I guess I can find some solace in the fact that the applicants are less qualified now, sorry everyone for the misuderstanding...

yes, go find some solace ;) Don't worry, if cornell is the school for you, you'll get in!
