What is their overall acceptance rate and Mid 50% SAT?

...

you know, you could go to www.cornell.edu and find it right there...

But why do that? ;)

Why should someone else do the leg work for you? The Princeton Review has all the info at www.review.com

I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy giving others information. No big deal though.

If I knew I would tell you, but I don't
Acceptance rate is around 25%-30%, I think, but it varies for each major and each school

I've seen anywhere from like 29-33% in recent years...varies A LOT by college, though.

Reportedly, 41.7% of the 2,569 ED applicants were admitted. (Approx. 1,068 admits)

Last year, for the Class of 2008, 1,120 - or roughly 44% - of the 2,546 ED applicants were admitted.

It's about the same as Oxford (25%-30%), or Stanford engineering (grad). One thing you have to consider is that Cornell doesn't use the waitlist to artificially drop the admit-rate (they draw almost 0% from the waitlist), while MIT and others use the waitlist quite extensively.

If Cornell used the waitlist as many universities do, then admit rate would be around 15%-20%.

That is not always true. There can be large swings at Cornell with respect to waitlist use. Only 4 were taken from the WL last year, but 124 were taken the year before.

But Cornell also has quite a few guaranteed transfers....Not sure, but I think this may artificially lower the admit rate (unless these people are counted in the transfer statistics)...

The transfers are unrelated to the admit rate, and in any case involve primarily the land grant schools rather than the endowed schools such as A & S and Engineering.

Hellz yeah...A&S represent w/ the 25% acceptance rate.

In any case, waitlist or no, Cornell's admit rate is about the same as Oxfords or Stanford engineering(grad).

i cant believe cornell is still ivy level with such high acceptance rates!
