What is each CUNY school known for?

What major or program is the best at each school? Or what are they known for? I known Baruch is one of the best schools in the country for business, but what about the rest?

There are too many CUNYs for people to answer properly. What areas are you interested in? That might help narrow it down somewhat.

Off the top of my head, though, there are significant programs in music at Queens and Brooklyn
City has the Sophie Davis program and engineering at a high level
Brooklyn is known for its creative writing program
Hunter has social work and a post-bac for premed among many other fine programs.

There are too many to really detail a list this way. What areas are you interested in?

Brooklyn college has its own BS/MD program which is separate from Sophie Davis. Purchase is well known for its programs in music, art, theater and film.

Purchase is a SUNY

Oops you’re right about Purchase. I always think of them together.

Baruch is known for business and accounting, CCNY for engineering, Hunter and Lehman for nursing, Queens and Hunter have good education programs, both undergraduate and graduate. Queens has a good music program, Brooklyn is known for theater.

What are you looking for?

@techmom99 I’m going to major in film. My top choices are Queens and Hunter

@techmom99 I also loved Baruch, but they don’t have a film program. I don’t think that school really suits me anyway. From what I could tell, it seems more of a mathematical/science studios school
