What is everyone else school like?

Mine is not what I was expecting. I'm on a VERY tight schedule, I HAVE to play a sport, there is something called a prefectship for grade 12's and grade 12's can give out detentions. So the last two aren't too bad, but for someone who is used to freedom and hates sports with an undying passion, the first two SUCK. But oddly enough I've learned to love this place I now call home.

My schedule:
wake up - 7
breakfast -7:30 to 7:50
chapel (kills me, just saying) - 8:15 to 8:40
morning classes- 8:40 to 12
lunch/break - 12 to 1
afternoon classes - 1 to 4
then sports - 4 to 5:30

but Wednesdays our classes go straight til 1, then lunch, then at 2:30 til 3:30 we've got extra help, then you've got the rest of the day to do anything, which is nice to have a little break.

But don't get me started on wearing a tunic, god awful, kilts are not too bad. Just the whole uniform thing lacks originality, which i thrive on.

So, what are other boarding schools like?

What school do you go to?

A school in Canada.

I surprised you didn’t know about the uniform, sports, chapel, etc before enrolling? Or if you did, what made you choose your school anyway?

I have lots of freedom at Taft. Wed and Sat classes only go until noon, you have to do an ex each semester (“exercise”) but it doesn’t necessarily have to be a sport. No “chapel,” very casual dress code, a nice mix of when classes meet and for how long. Teachers realize that their class isn’t your only class and assign homework accordingly. I can leave campus whenever I want and walk into town or go for a run/bike. I just wish there was a swimming pool :P
