Hey guys, I was just curious if anyone had any insight on what will happen for CSU’s if social distancing is still in place in the fall of 2020. I already did my housing stuff form my CSU and I am wondering if I will still be able to move into the dorms if COVID-19 is still rampent. I have to move out at 18 so this is just to help me figure things out if someone has any insight. Thank you!
A few students with extraordinary circumstances WERE allowed to remain in dorms this spring at many colleges across the country. Make sure CSU is aware of your situation and circumstances. Keep both the housing office and your advisor posted and updated regularly. My guess is they will figure out a way to accomodate you. Best of luck to you.
I know some colleges are making online contingency plans, and it is wise for those institutions to have several plans in place at this point. I personally think it will be business-as-usual come fall, to avoid further economic collapse and risk of social unrest. I don’t discount the value of making contingency plans, however.
Thank you so much I will do that, that gives me a lot more relief. Yeah I really hope they will have Universities up and running in the fall, they are a huge part of the economy and of many peoples lives.
I agree - I think most campuses will be back in operation for the Fall semester. There may be some density differences in dorms and classrooms but, by and large biz as usual - that said, nobody knows for sure so do what you can to keep as many options open to you as you can.
Thank you! I will I just really hope they will allow on campus housing no matter what!
