What is grade deflation. What is grade inflation?

I have a 3.77 UW gpa.
(4.3 WEighted)
I have 6 Bs and 1 C
and take a lot of unweightd grade classes in school (which lowers my class rank)

freshman
no Bs
RANK: 5/350

Sophomore
3 Bs, 1 C
RANK: 4/350

jUnior, so far
3 Bs
RANK: 6/350

what is grade deflation? someone told me that I had it at my school.
is this good or bad? Does my class rank match with my GPA?

grade deflation is bad, and it seems as if your school definately has it. a school with 350 ppl, and the 5th rank has 6 b's means that if you went to any other high school your grades would be MUCH higher.

how is that bad??
won't colleges see that is it "grade deflation?"

it's bad, i got 84% avg and i rank the same as you. i got rejected by all schools this year! all!!!! be aware!! i suggest transfer to a grade inflated school ( i should've done that, even after adcom's told me, i still stayed. i seriously don't deserve those schools :( after not taking their advice! )

y is it bad!!!???
OH NOOOOOOOOO

WHY???

The colleges will KNOW that my school is deflation school, righT??
will they take it into consideration?

bump, please!!! Thanks!!

Well, it depends how your counselor writes about it..

wait didn't you take a lot of weighted classes ? cuz how can your weighted gpa be 4.3 and unweighted 4.77 and you say you didn't take a lot of weighted classes ?

my unweighted is 3.77
Weighted is 4.3

i know... i'm asking how is that possible

becuase 6/7 of my classes are WEighted.
5.0
instead of a regular 4.0 for each class.
but I get Bs in some of them
and then i take sumemr school...and orchestra...
lowers my GPA down to 4.3
otherwise, without orchestra/summer school, i'd have a 4.5 or so
