What is HOSA?

i’ve seen it on a lot of rd/ed applicant threads and i’m also interested in medicine. i looked at their website but i am still a bit confused - if somebody could explain it that would be great thanks!! (:

HOSA stand for Health Occupation Students of America. There are different chapters around the US, and they all attend their Spring and Fall Leadership Conferences. If you have an interest in medicine, then this is definitely the program to be in. I myself am the vice president of my school’s chapter, but this is the first year my school ever had HOSA, so we’re just settling in. I went to the Fall leadership last year and it was really nice; I met other experienced officers and we went to different rooms and learned about the competitions. On the website, you can see the different competitions that you can participate in. It’s really nice, to be honest, and definitely something you should write down in college applications to show them your interest in medicine.

@canyounot so does my school need to have a chapter for HOSA?

@cakebatter09 yup!
