nship issues?

Honestly.

Is it because you people don't have any confidants? Previous experience? Or what?

People want advise.

It's a college life forum. Relationships are a big part of college life? why shouldn't they? Sometimes close friends are too close to the situation to give you a rational answer (like if they are friends with both people, etc) so you seek outside help.

My opinion is that asking for relationship advice on an anonymous internet forum isn't too productive.

I suppose. I'll give you that, for arguments sake. However, being offended by the replies you get is baseless. People need to realize the potential consequences of making such threads.

Save it for 2 AM drunken rants at the bar. Im sure we all want to hear about them. This goes for both males and females.

It is also in my opinion that when you enter in a relationship, such stuff is part of the deal. I.E You signed UP for the negatives. So just suck it up.

I don't know. I think the problem arises when people know what everyone is going to say, but they don't want them to say it.

The truth hurts. :/

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

It's probably because some people have a psychological need to get advice from others before making any sort of major decision (ie: breaking up, asking someone out). That would also explain the "where should I go for college" and "what are my chances?" posts.

Because in RL you could let your thoughts out around a group of people who could potentially spread rumors about either a potential relationship or about a potential breakup - whereas this isn't likely to happen in an online forum.

And as for why CC - most of the people asking for relationship advice here already have substantial post counts - it's not as if they hang around a huge number of other forums (most people here don't hang out in a lot of other places)

What's even funnier/sadder (depending upon how you care to look at it) is the people who post about their relationship issues on Harry Potter forums.
