I am currently a community college student in Seattle and planning to transfer to UW computer science. I've heard that the program is very very very competitive :(
UW is the only school I ever wanted to go to...I was rejected for freshmen admission because I had a 2.7 GPA average in high school when I was applying. (I failed 4 - 5 classes, was really lazy in high school.) But I've changed my habits and behaviors after high school. Now I'm planning to apply after finishing all my prereq courses.
My stats:
Overall High school GPA: 3.0 (I was a running start student for the last year which boosted my GPA up a little bit.) Running start - attend college level courses while still in high school.
Overall College GPA: 3.75
Programming I: 3.6 (Prereq course)
Programming II: 3.5 (Prereq course)
Calculus I: 3.8...Calculus II: 3.5 Calculus III: 3.8 (Prereq courses)
Engineering Physics I: 3.5 (Prereq course)
Both required English courses: 4.0 (I don't know why though, my English is horrible since I'm an immigrant. ASIAN .)

I am volunteering at VA hospital. Involving with Saturday church activities. Teaching Vietnamese at the World school. (Not a lot...)

I suck at writing personal statements...

So...

Please give your opinions on my chances of getting into UW computer science program. Any opinion would help...I am looking forward to see what you guys think. THANK YOUUU!
