What is my chance of getting into Wake Forest?

I am a male student from North Carolina and

I have loved Wake Forest since I have been looking at colleges and visited it today and fell even more in love with it, this is where I want to go. I have a 4.5 weighted and 4.2 Unweighted GPA, Vice President of my student council, taken 4 ap's (AP Psychology,AP Microeconomics,AP Biology,AP Environmental Science and all honors and a couple CP), Ran cross country this year, Ran track and field last year and currently doing it this year, Vice President of the Key Club, participated on the School tennis team sophmore year.

Have done over 100+ hours of community service.

I also work a job on the weekends.

Won Academic Excellence for Algebra 1 and Geometry out of everyone in my school.

Very, very hard worker and always do the best I can.

My sat scores dont reflect my work ability at all and am deciding not to send it because im not the best test taker for the SAT.

What chance do yall think I have of getting into Wake? I am praying and hoping that all my hard work I have done since Freshman year will pay off.

If you’re a hard worker you should fit right in. They don’t call it “Work Forest” for no reason!

As I understand it, WFU’s not-sending-scores thing means that their admissions is a lot more subjective. They’ll put a lot of emphasis on your transcript, since it’s the only really measurable thing; and from your post, it looks like that will be no problem.

Other than that, I’m thinking the decision will be based mostly on how you present yourself in your app. Looks like you have a wide range of EC’s with some significant accomplishments. Good teacher recs will cement them.

Judging from WFU’s Common App supplement, they are very interested in understanding you as a person and trying to see whether you’re interesting, intelligent, and motivated enough to be a valuable member of their community. So make sure your writing is flawless and that it shows all your best attributes. It’s probably the single most important thing they look at.

Did you have an interview when you went for your tour? They gave me one on the spot, before I was even certain about applying. Because of the nature of their process I’m assuming the interview is also very important. I’d go back and get one if you didn’t today.

It sounds like ED would have been good for you, but the deadline for that is the day after tomorrow… If you’ve not finished or nearly finished your Common App and WFU supplement, I would wait. That’s a real bummer for you though if you know it’s your top choice.

Wake Forest is probably my #2 pick, and most likely where I will end up if I get rejected from Northwestern. Best of luck!

I went in and got an interview last week and thought i did great and my interviewer seemed to really like me. Im not gonna do the early decision because I am applying to UNC and elon and state also, but after today I hope I can make it. Thank you for the response that made me feel better

Im doing the early action on nov. 15th

Im also in National Honor Society which i forgot to mention

You will get in - but can you afford it? Wake will admit you without SAT’s but requires them for FA.
