Hello! I’m in senior now and for my last 3 years of high school, I took physics app., biology, and environmental science. But, now for my last senior, I want to take AP environmental science but then my dad told me that I need to take chemistry. However, I don’t know what is my chance if I take AP Environmental Sci. and not chemistry. However, what should I take? Also, I’m going to study business in college. Please help me out what should I take?
What colleges are you applying to?
You could lways take chemistry regular AND APES.
What other classes are you taking?
this year, I’m just taking arts because of need arts credits but I’m not taking any science class. This year, I’m taking the United States Government 12, Digital Publishing S, ESL-5, Ceramics, Precalculus, Language Arts 12, Web Design S, and Virtual School Course in which it is an online class and I still think about taking accounting if they had it or just do some other things online but haven’t talked to my teacher yet and still waiting to see what other classes I can take. However, I’m taking out Chemistry for sure because I don’t think I need it and it seems boring. Also not interesting in Science anyway. So yeah! But last year, I took Bussiness and personal finances also marketing. But for Business majors do I really need Chemistry?
I’m trying to get into Temple Universtiy in Tokyo or Temple Universtiy in PA and go to FOX Business School in Temple
(most likely trying to find a business college) Also hopefully I can get in any business college.
However, one of my teachers told me that I don’t need other science class this year because I only took 3 Science classes and passed. But should I keep Chemistry? I really do want to take it because of my chemistry teacher plus I’m the only senior in the classroom. And I’m not going into a hard science at college anyway because I’m going to study business.
Your schedule is a bit light for Fox.
Take only ONE from Digital publishing, web design, or ceramics. Replace one with Economics and the other with chemistry.
Fox will expect precalculus or precalculus honors or calculus; 3 years of foreign language; biology, chemistry, and one more science; us history, economics, 2 more social science/history classes; 4 years of English.
You should take economics (preferably AP or honors) rather than accounting.
Taking chemistry has nothing to do with majoring in the sciences - it’s for your general understanding of the world and to make your brin work in a different way than what other subjects stimulate. It also shows your willingness to challenge yourself. For virtual school, try APES and Financial Literacy.
Note that you dont attend “business college” - You attend a university and within that university take classes to see if you’ll qualify for the business majors in the business school. If you’re not well prepared and don’t focus on your studies, you may well be barred from a business major. That’s why high school graduation requirements are different from college admissions requirements.
