Based off the information from College Board only 5% of the students at UT are from OOS, but what percentage of OOS applicants are accepted and how many decide to enroll?

I do not know how many applied, but I read some where on here that 2000 OOS applicants were accepted in 2009, and over 600 enrolled. I do know, that this past year, they doubled the number of acceptances from the prior year. I think International is a separate accounting.

Perhaps, someone else can verify this fact.

Last year we thought that maybe the oos and non-top-10% Texas people might have had about the same acceptance rate, 17%, and this seemed to be similar to what had been seen the year before and the year before that.

This year I think those two groups had much different acceptance rates, with a lower rate for non-top-10% Texas and a higher rate for oos students.

Guidance counselors might have historic oos SAT ranges.

UT uses OOS and non-top-10% students to fill programs that were not filled up by top 10% kids, so your major matters. The admissions office told admissions volunteer students that historically the out of state yield at ut is low because “it is hard to get into ut from out of state so kids who can get in typically have many options,” something like that.

I applied (and got in) this past year. My admissions counselor said OOS acceptance rate for this year was 23%

sorry…but what is OOS ?

Out of State
