Sit up straight. Look at how much fat you have when you are perfectly straight up. Make a reasonable goal. Exercise. Do NOT listne to those ppl telling you to diet insanely. Eat a regular but healthy diet. Cut out things like doughnuts and McDonalds (they aren't that good anyway)....opt for healthier choices like whole-wheat pasta...whole-grain cereals....fruits, veggies, grilled chicken.

While crunches do help.....I've found push-ups to be a great supplement....besides you get great arms in the process too!

ahh don't listen to these people saying just do a lot of situps/crunches... that will not help at all, it'll just build your stomach muscles UNDER the fat

it's all about the cardio when you still have excess fat

The only time you need gatorade/powerade is when you are playing a taxing sport for a long period of time, and Powerade needs to be supplemented with water also otherwise you'll get dehydrated.

Stay away from the following:
High fructose corn syrup
Sucrose
Partially Hydrogenated ____ Oil

Don't cut out all carbs like people on here say. That's crazy. Instead, stay away from sugary foods, "highly glycemic foods", etc. Eat fiber and whole grains (when you buy bread, make sure there are at least 2-4 grams of fiber per serving). EAT YOUR VEGGES!!!! EAT YOUR WHOLE GRAINS!!!!

As for fat, don't cut it out completely, either. Cut out transfatty acids, foods that are fried but provide no nutritional value (if you go to a Chinese restaurant and you get something stir-fried but it has lots of veggies and mineral-rich foods, you can eat it. Though there is a little bit of bad fat, the minerals in the veggies are still in there and the food is still giving you a benefit). CUT OUT THE SATURATED FATS as much as possible. This includes taking fat off meat and avoiding processed foods, etc.

Eat well, but stay away from the top part of the Food Pyramid as best as you can (aka the butter, sugar, and you name the rest)

When you want to grab a 6' from Subway, be sure to get the WHEAT bread. Seriously, it is so much different from getting normal white bread from WHEAT bread.

anyways, subway isn't all that healthy - don't get cheese or mayo either. the jared guy only lost so much weight b/c he ate a footlong each day with little or no meet, wheat bread, no cheese/mayo/anything unhealthy.

lol, yes i know... i officially hate subway now.. i've eaten it too much. i only go there to make fun of my friend who works there in the summer.

Anyone know any good pectoral muscle workouts?

As to what the OP said I recommend running, not treadmill running but real running out on the street, beach etc. Then after running some wieght training , lastly some cardio with light weights, including your ab workouts. estimated time 1hr and a half daily, atleast 5 days a week. Don't forget to eat lots of protein, best protein supplements are EADS and marathon protein bars.

I read an article from muscle and fitness about a year ago that said that running on a treadmill was about 2 times less effective than running on dirt, grass, track, beach. because on a treadmill your basically hopping instead of striding. The said the most effective running was running on sand, for every mile you run on the beach you lose 175 calories more than if you would've done it on a treadmill
