what is quickest way to burn that excess fat off your bellly?

what is quickest way to burn that excess fat off your bellly?

any certain weights, machines, exercises (situps?)? how do you burn this all this fat off your tummy?

Not eating milk and cookies.

First off, I just wanted to say that it's perfectly normal to have fat on the belly. My anorexic friend is 5'3/91 lbs and still has fat on the belly, but it's just not excessive. I guess you should try going by waist measurements. Sometimes part of the "fat" on your belly is nothing more than water retention. But if you already knew that, ignore it.
But personally, I think running/jogging is a good exercise that will help. Swimming is good, too. I'm not sure about the weights--they have never helped me. And as for machines, most of them are crap, just to let you know. They're trying to get your money. You can burn just as much by running and still be satisfied with heavier pockets.
There is also no such thing as "spot training". In order to get some of the excess fat off, you have to lose overall.

Nice response, me.duh.

^Agree. Stay away from fat. Take off all the skin/fat from your chicken, don't eat oreos, lays; don't drink soda (only water), don't eat ribs, do some abdominal exercises (exercises can be found at abcbodybuilding.com).

Try calorie-counting. It's fine to eat high fat foods here and there--fats don't make you fat, excessive calories do.
And don't go below 1000 cals a day or you will get into starvation mode and your body will start holding onto its fat stores. Also, you will screw up your metabolism so later on you will gain weight very easily.

3500 Calories=1 lb fat. Excessive energy (Calories) are stored as fat by the body for insulation, cushioning, and in preparation for famine.

I'd like to add a point about running. I read this in Parade magazine, so I think it's pretty credible. But supposedly, the physics of your body while you're running doesn't really help the shape of your belly because you're leaning forward. I really don't know how much sense it makes or even if it's true, because it sounds really weird. So somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

hahahahaha...

Don't eat anything with carbohydrates and bench-press (especially with your legs on some bar!) and run with sprints. Don't stay away from fat food, it will only increase your burn of fat (at least this is what it does to me) but completely eliminate bread/cereal/sugar/anything with carbohydrates.
AND! Before you do all that, I'm sure that you're not drinking cola/fastfooding, right?

Please don't do anything stupid like counting calories because:
A) Your body is a very complex system.
B) Your body is a GROWING system.
Just run and sprint and don't eat sweet things -- you'll be alright.

One more tip: Throw away all stupid magazines and journals that advertise "New-Progressive-Fat-Burner-System-For-Only-99.9 (a month)"

I don't know how much credibility I am of but I annually loose 25-30 pounds for wrestling season during end of summer-to-mid of fall.

Basically, don't eat at all...and just bench press like crazy.

i dont drink soda, and i try to eat healthy foods, i will also try to run 4 miles every other day. i hope i can loose this fat before college starts.

also, does doing 100 situps a day help burn fat off your belly?

nope, it'll make your stomach look larger actually, as you'll now have a ripped 6-pack under a layer of fat ... so it all just looks like more fat.

at least when you lose the fat you'll have a 6-pack though

and heres somthing noone else has mantioned: instead of eating 2 or 3 meals a day, eat when you're hungry, small amounts (so pretty much 6 smaller meals throughout the day). That way your metabolism never stops, you just keep digesting food/fat.

You can't really lose weight on JUST your tummy, you have to lose fat all over. But if you don't have a whole lot of fat to start with, just have a pudgy tummy, do LOTS of sit ups.

Sit ups will increase your muscles on belly that will hold excessive fat, not burn fat. But muscles are better than absence of fat :)

Muscles also burn fat.

Yes, there's no "spot treatment". I've read a lot on this, just cuz I work out, and basically do cardiovascular exercise, go on a regulated diet (I don't mean like Atkin's or Jenny Craig, but just monitor what you're eating, preferably low carb), and finally don't do crunches. If you want a six-pack, wait til you lose the fat, because if you build up muscle you'll only look bigger..

eat more proteins and less carbs.

running/biking/swimming really help. esp. swimming - it burns off more calories than running/biking and you also work on all your muscles (rather than jsut legs).

I totally agree with x3rose.. Any type of water aerobics helps out your stomach muscles esp. your abs, as well as running and conditioning!

How about this....

How do you get fat on your belly???

Seriously, im too skinny

running my friend, or do crunches while holding an 8 pound medicine ball between your legs

Staying away from fat is important. Avoid fat whenever you can. I don't know how this isn't important. I've lost a lot of weight by just staying away from fatty foods. I don't completely eliminate them but doing things like taking skin off your chicken and drinking 1% milk instead of whole definetely will help.
