Hi, can somebody help me explain what exact Regents is in depth? I understand it’s a scholarship and that it’s very competitive but is it invite only? Are you automatically considered if you’re competitive enough or do you have to apply? IS it available to a number of universities or just UCLA? Also what is considered competitive to be selected?
Each UC campus offers Regents’ scholarships, normally to what it sees as the top few percent of admits. The award amount is specific to the campus, as are any additional benefits.
There is no separate application. Recipients are determined from the UC application for admissions at the particular school.
I’ve seen others suggest the top, top applicants at each campus. Something like the 1% of applicants to a particular college. The level of competitiveness varies between campuses. One could be awarded regents at UCSC and denied altogether from UC Davis.
