First, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this in!

Ok, i was accepted into a four year university but it was not my first choice. Now i am considering going to a community college and then transferring. Everyone is telling me different things and my parents are extremely disappointed (even though they understand nothing about how college works!) Is it because it is embarrassing to go to a community college? I don't want to let their pride decide my future.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My brother attended a community college and then transferred to the state’s flagship. There is no shame in it, and you can save a lot of money. Only A$$holes look down upon them because they are ignorant.

Your parents being embarrassed is their issue to work through. It is your life. Go to CC, and tell then to get over it. That will be the mature decision.

I think you should just do what you want! Go to the Community College and then take things from there.

Community college’s get slagged because they don’t have tiny admission rates and may not have a huge, foliage-lined campus with brick buildings.

your first choice isn’t always your best choice
