What is the accelerated Math course sequence in your high school?

7th Grade: Pre-Algebra
8th Grade: Algebra 1
9th Grade: Geometry/Algebra 2
10th Grade: Pre-Calculus
11th Grade: AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics or Statistics or Calculus
12th Grade: AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics or Statistics or Calculus

9th grade: Pre calc/Math Year 3
10 grade: Acc. AP Calc AC/BC + AP stats (optional)
11th grade: Diff.Eq/Calc 3 + AP stats (optional)
12th grade: Linear Algebra + AP stats (optional)

^thatā€™s how our school works

Of course, not everyone gets to linear algebra by their senior year. Most end at BC or Diff Eq. (I got to linear algebra :D)

9th: pre-calc
10th: AP calc AB
11th: Advanced Calc (they take the BC test but the class is slightly harder than the BC curriculum)
12th: Differential equations and/or AP Stats.

Algebra, geometry, algebra 2, IB sl 1, ib sl 2, IB HL

I started at algebra 2 in 9th grade so Iā€™ll finish IB HL math senior year

I go to a crappy high school, so here it is.
8: Test into Algebra 1
9: Geometry
10: Algebra 2
11: Precalc-Trig
12: AP Calculus AB

7th: algebra 1
8th: algebra 2
9th: geometry
10th: ap stats
11th: Precalc
12th: AP Calc BC

8th Grade: Algebra 1
9th Grade: Honors Algebra 2
10th Grade: Honors Geometry & PreCalc
11th Grade: Honors Calc & AP Calc AB or AP Stats
12th: AP Calc BC or AP Stats
Iā€™m not really sure what the juniors who took AP Stats will take their senior year, but Iā€™m assuming at least Honors Calc. To put this in perspective the normal courses at my school are:
9th Grade: Algebra 1
10th Grade: Algebra 2
11th Grade: Geometry
12 Grade: PreCalc or Advanced Functions

Freshman: Advanced Algebra H
Sophomore: Geometry H
Junior: Pre-Calc H
Senior: AP Calc AB/BC H

Officially, this is the highest-level sequence, but more and more kids are starting off in Geometry (or higher) because the standards for early admission into that class are being lowered.

Honors/AP:
9th Grade: Geometry Honors
10th Grade: Algebra II Honors
11th Grade: PreCalculus Honors
12th Grade: Calculus AB AP

Regular:
9th Grade: Algebra I CP
10th Grade: Geometry P&S CP
11th Grade: Algebra II CP
12th Grade PreCalculus CP

Iā€™m in the honors program so Iā€™m following the first sequence and am currently in Alg II H

9th: Algebra II
10th: Geometry (itā€™s a joke)
11th: Pre-calc
12th: AP Calc AB
Donā€™t ask about the regular track. Plenty of kids in my school graduate with Algebra II as their highest level of math. They take it in 11th and can either skip math altogether in 12th or take ā€œcollege mathā€ which is an accredited course that is basically a culmination of Algebra II. Most kids do that in 12th instead of Pre-calc because itā€™s the easier option. It should be illegal in my opinion. :D

^At my school the regular track also has Algebra II in junior year, but for senior year they either skip math or take College Algebra/Trig, that is unless they failed one math class previously, in which case they take Algebra II as seniors.

Over here, most advanced students takes this:

9 - Academic 9
10 - Academic 10
11 - Functions
12- Advanced Functions + Calculus (AB sans integral) & Vectors (and/or Data Management)

There was this one guy though who did this:

9 - Academic 9
10 - Academic 10
Summer - Functions
11 - Advanced Functions + Calculus & Vectors
12 - Data Management

Though, it is possible to do this, but no ones does it, as credits canā€™t be transferred:

9 - Academic 9 + 10
Summer - Functions
10 - Advanced Functions + Calculus & Vectors
Summer - Differential Calc at CC
11 - Data Management
Summer - Integral at CC
12 - Youā€™re outā€¦

Algebra I
Geometry
Algebra II
Precalculus
AP Calculus AB or BC
Multivariable Calculus w/ Linear Algebra
Differential Equations w/ Complex Analysis
Analysis

6th: Pre-Algebra
7th: Algebra I
8th: Geometry
9th: IB-MYP Algebra II
10th: IB Math SL I
11th: IB Math SL II
12th: AP Calc AB/AP Stat

Hereā€™s how it is for my graduating class (2014) and the class after me (2015):

Freshman: Algebra 1B/Geometry
Sophomore: Algebra II
Junior: Trig, AP Stats*
Senior: (Optional, our high school requires 4 math credits and you get those 4 in three years) Most take AP Calc and/or AP Stats with some taking College Algebra

*The first time you should take it. Our school TECHNICALLY doesnā€™t have prerequisites, but the AP Stats teacher wants you to have taken Alg II

For the class that entered this year (2016), they changed things:

Freshman: Algebra 1B/Algebra II
Sophomore: Geometry
Junior: Trig, AP Stats
Senior: (still optional) Either AP Calc AB, AP Stats, College Algebra

Also this year, they started having 8.5th graders come up. They take two classes at the middle school (Civics and Science) and then are bused up to the high school to take English, Math, Strategic Reading, and either the freshman computers/engineering class or band. This allows their track to be:

8.5th: Algebra 1B/Algebra II
9th: Geometry
10th: Trig
11th: (optional; any math elective) AP Calc AB, AP Stats, College Algebra
12: (optional) AP Calc BC or any other math elective as above

Iā€™m a little ticked at this, since I would have been an 8.5 and wouldnā€™t have had to take Algebra 1B twice! (I was a grade ahead in math every year since 1st grade.)

Freshman Year - Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II (Honors only applicable to last 2)
Sophomore Year - Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus (Honors applicable to all)
Junior Year - Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, Statistics (Honors only applicable to first 2 options)
Senior Year - Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, Statistics, AP Statistics (Honors applicable to all that arenā€™t AP)

Overall, I really wish any sort of statistics was pushed back a year so everyone can take AP Statistics their junior year.

The typical advanced track in our district is:

6th: Pre-Algebra
7th: Algebra I Honors
8th: Algebra II Honors

9th: Geometry Honors
10th: AlgIII-Trig Honors
11th: AP Calc (AB or BC)
12th: Multivariable (for BC only) and/or AP Stat (for AB and others)

My high school has about 2600 kids so participation for any math class is usually not a problem, but the spectrum of students is very vast as some kids graduate without reaching Trigonometry while there were 2 freshman in my Calc BC class. I think some kids accelerate through this sequence far too quickly. Thereā€™s honestly no rush, take your time and master whatever class youā€™re in.

At my school, you can start as an 8th grader on Algebra and work your way up, but most people start in Algebra as a 9th grader. All classes except Adv. Algebra and the AP Calcā€™s have Honors options, if you started these classes as an 8th grader.

Algebra
Geometry
Advanced Algebra
Pre-Calc
Calc AB/BC

My district 4 math credits are required, 3 of which must be received in highschool. Order is.
Required:
Algebra 1
Geometry
Algebra 2
Then a 4th math required:
Pre cal (alg ii prereq)
Ap stats (Alg ii prereq)

Then optional ap calc AB or BC (precal prereq)

Algebra one was trypically started (for the GT kids) in 6th grade by getting a 70% on a middle school math test in 5th grade. But my year the bar was raised to 90% so only 2 people in the distract got it.
I myself did :
6th: GT 6th grade math
7th: Algebra 1 (middle school math test. Received the highest score with a 90)
8th: Geometry (4 person class xD )
9th: algebra 2
10th: Precal & AP stats & self studied calc BC
(only sophmore in stats because the counselors said no to ever (then) freshman that wanted to take it the next year. I was the only one that fought with them for it. Yuppie for me!)
11th/12th (early grad): Since I learned all the math in my district (even though I donā€™t have highschool credit for calculus) and that my councilors told.me about some dual college enrollment on the day the application is due. I am not going to take a math because I donā€™t have anything to take  Iā€™ll just learn some more advanced calculus by my self! (My district sucks academically)

my school doesnā€™t have any paths for mathā€¦people just do wat they want O.o
