What is the best I could do?

I'm pretty confident that I can get into CU Boulder and U Iowa, which are the only schools I have seriously considered. What schools would be considered reach for me? (I want to go pre-med)
Thank you so much!

You’ve got your safeties covered; try UCSD or Tulane…

Yeah, definitely try the UCs. I’m not too familiar with good pre-med schools, so unfortunately, I can’t help you too much. UCB will care too much about GPA and ACT scores, so don’t waste your money there. UCLA is a decent reach for you. They care about GPA and ACT a lot too, but you could try that for a reach. Also try USC.

Good luck!

Try the UC’s!

What’s your budget?
For a Colorado resident, the UC’s will cost 55K per year and the only financial aid you’ll get is 5.5K in loans for your freshman year (which is the maximum you can get as a freshman). Do your parents have 200K saved up for your education, or can they spend that much out of pocket?

Would you be interested in a medium-size school that’s Christian, considering you’re very involved in your church + FCA?

For cheaper than a UC, you could try for Cal Poly SLO, but you’d have to apply for a specific major and they’re all impacted.

@MYOS1634‌ My budget is pretty high, and I don’t qualify for financial aid, but I’d rather keep it under 45k. And I’m honestly not into the idea of going to a Christian school. Colorado Christian U I can get almost full tuition there, and Wheaton College in IL wasn’t bad.

UCSD would be a reach based on ACT and GPA. Also UC’s give little to no financial aid, so if your are full pay at $55K/year as MYOS1634 state above. look at UCI/UCD/UCSB. Your GPA and ACT would be more in their range.

Wheaton College indeed “isn’t bad” (I think you meant the understatement  ), along with Calvin and Hope they’re the top Christian schools in the country. For a larger evangelical Christian university in a gorgeous location (weird combination of bling and faith though), there’s also Pepperdine. And finally, one of the highest ranked is BYU (no partying but great academics and great location). All of these have conservative values and mandatory chapel attendance and Bible study.
For a lighter approach, what about LMU? It’s in Los Angeles and you’d likely get merit to make it within your stated price range. Chapman is near LA and a pretty good school too. Above these two, Occidental and the Claremonts (I’m afraid Pitzer would be too much of a culture shock so look into each college of the consortium). The Claremonts have 6,000 students and the other schools are in LA, so that, even if the schools are medium-sized, it’s not like you’d be bored.
Colorado Boulder is a given and I’m not sure why you’d leave it for Iowa. If you want a Midwestern-y/Eastcoast-y school that’s higher-ranked than both and still within your price range, what about Penn State? (You’d have to apply by December 1st though). UMaryland, with ready access to DC, is another one you could look into, although it’s not midwestern. In the Midwest, the obvious ones would be UMN-Twin Cities, plus Butler perhaps.

And UIUC too…

I can’t imagine you not getting in to Boulder, it is your flagship school so it is respectable for premed. But if course try some other schools.
