I am currently using Barron's, but heard that it was quite excessive.

What do you guys recommend?
and also for the SAT II Chemistry. :D

Thanks in advance!

and i noticed that they changed the name to Math Level 2; is the test still the same?

Yes, same test

Use Barron's to study, then take McGraw Hill's practice tests. MGH's tests are much easier, but the difficulty is much more similar to that of the real test. Barron's is too difficult, but will prepare you well.

What I did was finish the Barron's book first, then take the MGH tests. Since the MGH tests were easier, I scored MUCH better, which also boosted my hopes right before the test ^^

Yeah and i suggest barrons for chem too.. since it overpreps you :D

I remember getting in the 500s and 600s on the barron's math iic practice tests. I ****ed my pants in fear, but ended up getting an 800 anyway. So, I guess if you like anxiety, stress, and over-preparation, use Barron's.

If you were to sift through the hundreds of threads on this topic you'd basically find.......
Barrons: You want 700+
PR: Everyone else

I don't want to hijack this thread, but has anyone used SAT II Math for Dummies? Personally, I was going to buy Barrons but I was given the Dummies book first. Is it good enough?

I also used Barrons. On Barrons practice tests, I usually scored between 720-760 but I ended up getting 800 on the January test. And the official math subject test book from Collegeboard also helped. It's not useful for studying, but there are two actual practice tests which I think the difficulty level is pretty accurate. I scored much higher on these practice tests (780-790). Good luck! :]

I'm using kaplan's right now.. i dont know if its enough though

Barrons is very good.

Meylani's practice tests are insanely difficult, but if you can get comfortable with those you're golden.

Is McGraw Hill's chem good? I never used it.
I just bought Barrons for chem. It seems to have a lot of material. Hope I can finish reading it before the test.

Ditto that. Meylani's practice tests are crazy difficult and nowhere near the actual test. My math teachers even had problems with the tests. But there are a few mistakes in the tests, which they caught. It's a good book if you want to stretch your understanding of precalculus concepts and not just memorize formulas.

Barron's is the best. It definitely overprepares you, but ensures a good score if you make an effort to learn all the material in the book. Don't be discouraged by low scores. I did horribly on the practice tests and then scored an 800.

omg barrons is hard

i just realized my teacher didnt prepare us for half the stuff yet
oh joy
i get to teach myself
while i study for aps
and sat ii us history
