What is the best private college in Florida?

In your opinion, what is the best private college/university in Florida? As far as academics, campus environment, etc.. I'm especially interested in schools with a large variety of majors, or a strong health science program. Also, if you know of any that tend to give large scholarships, I'd be interested to hear about them.

University of Miami would almost certainly get the consensus nod as the best.

I would tend to agree with the UMiami comment. I am not sure how they are with scholarships.

You may also want to take a look at Rollins. It is a smaller school compared to UMiami. It is just outside of Orlando in beautiful Winter Park. Rollins offered my son a very attractive financial package so I know they do have some scholarships.

University of Miami is very generous with merit aid, provided that you have the test scores and academic rigor they are looking for. They are very clear about the range of scholarships on their website.

The University of Miami

University of Miami

I agree with UM. However, the real questions since best is relative, are why best? and why private?

Agree that UM is the best; but some other GOOD ones I would include that deserve a look are Rollins like sportsmom2016 said, Stetson, and Eckerd.

Sportsmom2016,
How does he like Rollins? I want to apply there but I am wondering what campus life is like there since it is a small private school.
