What is the boringest book you've ever had the "privilege" of reading?

Right now I'm struggling through "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" for AP English with only 20 pages to go and I don't even think I can make it without strangling myself...

I am in complete agreement, although I did manage to make my way through it.

moby-dick for AP english.. oh my god that book was so boring

"Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad. I could vomit.

If you were alive Mr. Conrad, I'd tell you to please kill yourself.

(I never got through the first 10 pages btw. =) )

Heart of Darkness. I really really really really really really really hate it.

Conrad can kiss my half-Asian butt.

The Scarlet Letter.

I hated that book with a passion.

Tropical Gangsters.
I had to read it so I could write a report on it for Honors World History.

I've never wanted to burn a book so much before; every page was torture.

The Old Man and the Sea.

Torture.

Seize the Day by Saul Bellow

Couldn't "seize the day" because required (summer) reading prevented it.

Ditto for The Scarlet Letter. HATED IT.

Wuthering Heights for me.

Emily Bronte is gracing my reading list this summer with Jane Eyre. How bad is it in comparison?

Haven't read it but sounds like it sucks (the whole, classical, Victorian-style, Jane-Eyre-like, sort of diction)

...I liked The Scarlet Letter and Wuthering Heights...

The Grapes of Wrath was pretty boring at first, but once you're in, you're stuck in it.

I had to read A World Lit Only by Fire for AP Euro. It's just some whackjob's interpretation of Medieval History and he hates the Catholic Church with a passion. Every other page he talks about a Pope having an orgy or something of that nature.

I actually just got The Scarlet Letter today at the library because it sounded interesting and the first few pages were good.

several actually:

-Wuthering Heights: just plain boring and depressing
-Slaughterhouse Five: ........ thats all i can say
-right now i'm reading catch-22 and i hate it

My "in complete agreement" was about Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.

The Scarlett Letter and The Sun Also Rises

BTW Jane Eyre is charlotte Bronte and I really love it (although I detest mr. rochestor =()

The Scarlet Letter, Huck Finn (not funny at all for me...I fell asleep twice reading it)

Still get to read the AP Eng Lit books, though ;)

^I second that Jane Eyre is an amazing book. How can you hate Mr. Rochester?

Uh... Across Five Aprils was pretty boring. We had to read it as punishment in history freshman year.
