What is the boringest book you've ever had the "privilege" of reading?

Does anyone else hate all historical fiction?

Life of Pi. It's a 400 page book about a person hallucinating about a tiger.

Hahaha, Life of Pi wasn't bad... the way you said it was funny.

Fermat's Enigma.
The Scarlet Letter. A chapter about a door? REALLY?

The Scarlet Letter
Moby Dick
Pride & Prejudice

Huck Finn was good until the end when Tom Sawyer was reintroduced into the book. Then it just dragged.

Great Expectations... Oh, the horror!

i HATED Great Expectations!! i could never get into it..i couldn't even bring myself to finish it

on the other hand, one of the best books i've ever read for school was Rain of Gold by Victor Villasenor..excellent book!!

I don't know; Great Expectations was ok (maybe is was because we read it after Pride and Prejudice =P)

Heart of Darkness

'nuf said

A Tale of Two Cities. NIce story line, hundreds of pages of pointless details.
My Antonia..I actually fell asleep reading this on a bus to a field trip.
Of Mice and Men...Stupid 8 page opening describing a pond.

I thought Of Mice and Men was good, but I love basically all Steinbeck. I do despise any of Hemingway's crap, and Intruder in the Dust made me want to scream. Honestly, what kind of celebrated author refuses to use punctuation as often as it is needed? Faulkner's way of starting a sentence, and then branching off to start describing some utterly insignificant detail for the next two pages is just ridiculous.

...I didn't think The Scarlet Letter was that bad...

I actually really liked Huck Finn; the reintroduction of Tom Sawyer at the end is priceless and so fitting to end it.

And Pride & Prejudice is one of my favorite books of all time; but I love pretty much all Austen.

The Catcher in the Rye

The Scarlet Letter... I couldn't get through the first 10 pages without falling asleep!

I hated the Scarlet Letter and Grapes of Wrath but I loved Heart of Darkness, i know alot of people hate that book but for some reason it was a good read for me.

faulkner- As I Lay Dying... i wanted all the characters to die so their streams of consiousness would shut up already :-D

Great Expectations was aiight. Loved the Scarlet Letter and found My Antonia and GoW pretty interesting.

I hated Watership Down in 6th grade....

The Daughter of Time, anyone? I don't even know what the **** the book's about because I stop reading literally after 3 pages.

A Separate Peace was the gayest book I ever read, literally.

Scarlet Letter hands down. It was the worst and most boring book I have ever read. (or in other words didn't read)
