<p>I think Bob Smith is the coolest name ever. I mean, it is really cool that someones parents, knowing how many freakin' Bob Smith's there are in this country, would STILL want to name their kid Bob Smith.</p>
<p>I know of one girl named Karisma, another named Shaniqua, another named Khadeja Sherrill, another named Tarresha Poindexter, another named Makeda Farley and finally a boy named Maeve Willis. (However, I actually know the place from where Khadeja came, the Qu'ran.)</p>

<p>Now, some clarification from a Vietnamese. @mamacita: Nguyen Do is a hell of a common name in Vietnam. FYI, Nguyen is probably the surname (it can well be a first name, but Nguyen as a surname is by far the commonest one in Vietnam). Somehow a lot of VNmese and Chinese people have to share their surname - there are only like a handful to go by b/c they're mostly monosyllabic.
Now to the hilarious and potentially awkward part: Dung [Zung] is a very very common female name in VN, and it has positive connotations too, in Vietnamese of course. The consequence of this nasty false-friend is that the people named Dung who have to do business in English have to spell their names Dzung. Pretty clever. Whoa, I can only thank my parents that my name can't be conveniently twisted into something like that>_<</p>
