What about an AS too?

Bump. Need answer to this question. I have 5 A’level subjects so I have put them down in my Current Year Courses. But what is meant by credit value?

@KingintheNorth, welcome to my life.

I don’t know what an A-level course is (clearly I have not been on CC long enough), but I believe credit is referring to the length of the course. So it would be .25 for a quarter, .5 for a semester, or 1 for a year. This may be different according to your school, so check out your course of study (if available), but this seems to be the general rule of thumb for what schools I have seen.

I also don’t know what an ‘A’ or ‘AS’ course is either.

But your school’s Course Catalog should list the credit value for each class.

A levels are a two year course. First year it’s called AS. For example you get an A in AS Biology. Second year is called A2. You get an A in A2 Biology. Then for your A levels you get an A* in Biology.

So when someone is writing their current courses as A levels, usually means they have done AS and are competing A2 in their final year.

So what’s the credit value for this? 2 for a two year course? Or 1 because we are talking about the last year?
