I did pretty bad on my first midterm and got a C on the second one. Should I drop the class due to my "extenuating circumstance"? It's a real one so I'm not lying about the e.c. but I don't know if it's worth taking it over if I can pass with a C bust is that even possible? Please help!

yeah, drop the class.

the curve is pretty bad but you can probably get a C if you’re okay with that…

what’s your major/why are you taking the class?

I’m not sure what my major is yet but I’m heading in the science direction. Do you think it’s POSSIBLE to get a C? I’m fine with that. I have to take it over if I’m not and I’ve been to all of the labs which are FOUR hours, so I’d rather not take it again if I could get away with a C-. I got a D on the first one and a C on the second one. I’ll probably get a C or higher in lab and here’s the break down:

700 points total

100 points for each midterm (3)
250 lab i’ve missed about 50 points so far.
150 final

yeah you could probably still get a C, but i’d drop it anyways if you can and redo to save your GPA.

I’ll PM u mechrocket.

i’m in the same situation
if we ace the final, there’s a chance for a B

wow that’s good to know! lol i thought i was the only one. being at berkeley i thought there was no chance someone did as bad as i did. but that’s what i LOVE about berkeley now lol I’m going to try so hard on the final/midterm (too bad it’s combined but this new section is pretty interesting). i know i can’t ace the final but I can definitely get a better grade. I talked to a bio tutor today and he said that the curve is very generous.

I don’t know if it’s “very” generous, especially with people doing really well the last midterm. I heard that there is only a slight curve. I checked some other forums and people said that they still ended up with a C even with the curve. So my best bet would be to just study our butts off for the final.

Will do. Thank you guys.
