What is the degree called that I obtain after graduating from the ILR?

I was wrong and tried to edit my post above, but it was too late. The Bachelor of Arts degree is from Arts & Sciences. An ILR degree would OBVIOUSLY say SUNY, Bachelor of Science ILR. I think the SUNY is in gold letters though - if that helps.

If you hadn't said gold I would have believed you....

dude ur at cornell, ilr is one the most respected programs in the country, placement at finance/consulting jobs is great. so what if ur diploma says SUNY or not.
plus ur um bashing has earned u no respect in my eyes

If people just honestly answer my two questions, I will shut up and not ask any more questions.

Not that it is that important, but does the diploma say Cornell or just SUNY? And what about a minor in economics?

Please someone honestly answer those two questions and I shall stop asking questions.

just SUNY.

And I don't know for certain, but you can probably minor in econ.

SUNY, of course! :) From the New York State School of Industrial & Labor Relations. Why you sound so ashamed?

Oh boy...just SUNY? Would it have killed them to write Cornell on it? Good lord.

Sounds like your parents pressured you just a hair too much.

Breathe kid, it's life, it sucks, and then you die. Close your eyes and smell the damn roses every once in a while.

SUNY and minors don't appear on the final diploma/transcript, only majors.

it does NOT say SUNY on the diploma, ILR is not a SUNY school, it is part of Cornell University, is a private school, and just receives funding from the state. Just the same way that a building is named after someone who donates a lot of money to build it, the ILR school is "named after" the state of New York, where a portion of its funding comes from.

Seriously though, why don't you try doing some research on your own to find the answers to these questions instead of having people do it for you:

Dear Uncle Ezra,
This may perhaps be trivial, but I was wondering if Cornell Graduate degree diplomas from the "statutory" schools say State University at Cornell on them or simply "Cornell University." It certainly is not as important as the incredible education every student gets at each school, but I was curious nonetheless. Thanks!
Curious
Dear Curious,

Diplomas from both the statutory and endowed colleges, undergraduate and graduate read 'Cornell University'. Donna Gulnac reports, "Many years ago, the bottom left corner indicating the college or school would have read New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences where now it reads College of Agriculture and Life Sciences."

About the minor, i'm not even sure if you can minor in Arts and Sciences if you are in the ILR school, so you would have to check on that first.

I also don't think that majors show up on the diploma (unless you graduate with honors)- it would just say Bachelor of Science so I doubt minors would be on there. It would, however, show up on the transcript I think, but don't quote me on that.

now that I answered your questions seriously, I think you should probably do some of your own research and stop relying on others. A simple google search would have answered your question right away.

PS sorry to ruin everyone's fun : )

Splinter, I hope your inquiry has upset Uncle Ezra enough to put some crazy voodoo hex on you that will tattoo SUNY into your forehead...permanently.

^^^ hahaahahaaa

Uncle Ezra's real last name is SUNY. He's a plant who just tries to convince people that Cornell ILR is a real Cornell college in a pathetic attempt to bring more people into the SUNY system.

My diploma is like this:

THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK (all caps)
grants (name) with the Bachelors of science in industrial and labor relations in conjunction with the contract division of Cornell University.

ouch....that is really not very prestigious at all. Sorry.

everybody on campus spits on me because of it. Even my class ring has SUNY on it (twice!) - it's like I never even stepped foot on the Cornell campus.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have even considered Cornell. Get that, splintercell, DON'T BOTHER COMING TO CORNELL

Thanks man. This makes my day.

really, don't go. Not even CAS. Engineering is the only school that gets any respect or ounce of recruitment. Forget wall street, give up on Cornell.

Now I am scared that if I go to Cornell, you guys will beat me up. Hopefully, my identity will be kept a secret and I will cease playing Splintercell games lest my cover is blown.
