I recently received admission into the NUin program and I am confused to what exactly it is. I applied to the Bouv College of Health Sciences with a major in Health Science. I however want to be in the College of Sciences with a Biology. It says that I will start in Spring 2015 and I am not keen on starting in the spring at all. Is it even worth it? For those of you who participated in it, do you think that the experience is worth it?

What are the costs like--are they different than that of the normal progam?
Can I opt out of this program and try for Fall 2014 admission? I do not think that I am prepared to like for a semster aborad, at least not at this stage in my life.

Take a look at the other thread about NUin that has been started. It also includes links to discussions from previous years describing the program in more detail and the experiences of students who have done it. I think that will give you a lot of useful information to help you understand whether the program would be a good fit for you or not.

To answer a few of your specific questions, though:
The costs will be the same as a normal semester at Northeastern, but (importantly) there is no financial aid for that first semester, which makes it expensive.
As for opting out, that’s not really an option. I’m not sure what you mean by “try for Fall 2014 admission” since that was what the goal was initially. You will still start Fall 2014 with college, but you won’t start in Boston until Spring 2015.
In terms of changing majors, I believe there is an option in your admitted student portal to request a major change, so check for that. I don’t think you would have any problem making that change.

Thank you so much!
