What is the party life like at Wellesley?

Wellesley is one of my top choices. I'm mainly looking at selective, small, liberal arts colleges in the North East but going to a college where I will have lots of fun is also important to me too. I know that Wellesley is an all girls school which is fine by me, but I want to know if being an all girls school affects the party scene? I also know that Wellesley is a dry town. This concerns me.

My other top choice is Vassar.

Thoughts?

I go to school around Boston and have a friend at Wellesley. Having gone there a few weekends I can say the party scene doesn’t seem to be at Wellesley. All the parties are at MIT. There is a bus that will take you to and from MIT until 2 or 3 am (I can’t remember) on the weekends.

thank you for your advice :)

Hi! I’m going to be a freshman at Wellesley this fall. I don’t know much but I will tell you what I do know. When I was visiting during Spring Open Campus, my host took me and a few other students to a few MIT frat parties. You take the Peter Pan to MIT for $3 and it takes you directly there. I’ve heard that Wellesley does have a few huge parties, but otherwise isn’t a big party school (which is what I actually preferred). If you’re the partying type, you can definitely get to other schools for them (MIT, Harvard, Boston U, Olin, Babson, etc) fairly easily. Boston is a college town, so at least there’s a lot of selection!

As for the drinking, Wellesley has it’s own pub in the Lulu. I’ve heard there are a lot of events there during the week/weekend and you don’t have to be over 21 to get in.
