What is the political climate at University of San Diego?

I was accepted to to USD for the fall of 2018 and went to visit over spring break. I got a good vibe from the campus, and I thought the people seemed really nice. However I haven’t been able to find much information on whether it is more of a conservative or liberal environment, and was wondering if anyone knew. Is there tension between students with different political leanings or points of view? Or do people not really talk about politics? I am liberal, and I just wanted to get a feel for what kind of environment I would be around if I attended USD. Thanks!

Politics is not a huge topic of discussion here, but the student body does have a liberal bent that is supported by the school. We have an active club called “Pee in Peace” which works with the administration to improve access to all-gender restrooms, a group of students did an art exhibition for “Me Too” in conjunction with sexual assault awareness week, and a LOT of people participated in the gun violence walkout in March.

College Democrats puts on good programming but is not very well attended. To my knowledge, College Republicans are nonexistent. There is a small population of conservative students (Pro-Life Club, etc.) but they seem to not be very vocal or prominent.
