its money they give you that u dont have to pay back but its not because of your grades its just because you dont have money to go to college

oh ok. so do you know how to be eligible for it? talking about family income, i am pretty sure I should be eligible if the grant is for low income students. but they also give me 12K for Dean scholarship. so i dont kno if that Dean schlrshp would make me "too rich" for the D.Grant.
I heard they allow student to send a letter to the school to appeal for better financial aid package. i am about 1/3 short on the total tuition, so i guess i will do it. does anyone have experience on this and want to share some tips?
thanks alot guys

the grant is an incredibly good thing. to be eligible just fill out fafsa or css profile from collegeboard... but the profile costs $18... so fafsa is really good. ask your parents to help you with it since it asks for tax forms and stuff

Oh, i did fill out the FAFSA and the CSS when i applied for UPenn. i am sure Drexel was in my FAFSA, but not really sure about CSS because drxel didnt tell me to add them. can i add Drexel in now?

edit. oh, i just checked out and drexel was not in collegeboard's CSS profile Participating Institutions list. so at least i can make sure i didnt miss out on it.

me, im eligible for the perkins grant, so my parents income is pretty low, but grants covered almost all of my tuition+roomandboard at wellesley. i really hope you get the drexel grant because you don't have to pay that money back... in a sense its like scholarship but you don't have the pressure to maintain a 3.5 or something. has drexel mailed you your financial aide package yet?

thanks for the consideration.
yeh, i got the FA package like a couple weeks ago. in that package i dont see any Drexel Grant listed. On the acceptee day i came there and they gave me an address to send appeals for the financial aid. i am going to wait for the end of this semester to send them the appeal and update my new GPA, which i believe will improve alot after this semester, to reinforce that appeal (i dont know if the new higher GPA could actually make any difference, but it is still better than appealing empty handed).

i hope you get the grant! good luck!

thanks
