What is UMich GPA

One more question:

You keep mentioning your michGPAs. Do you now how they are calculated? D's school uses % grades.

Once you submit your transcript U mich recalculate your GPA

They only consider English, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Language grades for GPA calculation.

So this could be advantage for some ppl or disadvantage for others.

They will still see your extra classes and grades though.

Thanks a lot! Not a big change in D's case.

also about the UM GPA- they don't use + or -
90-100 = 4
80-89 = 3
70-79 = 2
i'm assuming if your D is applying to UMich she doesnt have anything lower than that haha
and it only includes your grades from your sophomore and junior year
it usually doesn't make much a difference from your normal GPA except if your D has a lot of B+ it may hurt a little

Actually this is even better! She had several 90s and 91s and was not sure if she could count them as 4. Although her freshan year was a good one, better than one of the junior semesters when shefirt tried 4 APs simultaneously. Will recalculate.

hate to say it but they dont calculate freshman year...only sophmore and junior (and i made all As freshman year! how lame). they take the core classes from those 2 years (english, math, science, social studies, foreign language) and unweight them. then they look at what youre taking your senior year to see how hard the classes are
